ARTICLE I - TITLE; PURPOSE
Section 1 - Title
This law shall be known and may be cited as "The
Village of Prospect Zoning Law."
Section 2 - Authority and Purpose
This local law is enacted
pursuant to the authority of Article 7 of the Village Law and Articles 2 and 3
of Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York.
This law is a land use control
to guide development in the Village
of Prospect, and is based
on, and is in conformance with, the Village Land Development Plan.
The provisions of this law shall
be held to be the minimum requirements, adopted for the promotion of the public
health, morals, safety, or the general welfare.
Whenever the requirements of
this law are at variance with the requirements of any other lawfully adopted
rules, regulations, or ordinances, the most restrictive, or that imposing the
higher standard, shall govern.
